Day 2

Im not going to lie to you but so far day 1 & 2 have blurred into each other. We flew overnight and landed at 530am. With only a few hours sleep we found our accomodation at the Infant Jesus Parish Centre next to the St Therese Resort. We were given the school bus to use as a mode of transport and we were off. Firstly, connecting with old friends of ours at MY Cafe in the middle of Apia. Walter was there to greet us and served a beautiful breakfast before we headed to the school for our first visit. We arrived at Paul VI College and it was great to see the staff (who were writing reports!) But the absence of the students and their warm welcone was not unnoticed. We were informed the schools will remain shut while we are here due to a measles epidemic which we are very mindful of. We were also given a tour and shown the many ways Marian has impacted their schools through gifted resources and this program. We discussed with the Principal ideas of what we wanted to help with and we all agreed we will be spending the next two days cleaning and setting up their library. Unfortunately, their librarian just simply left for NZ leaving them with noone. So we have accepted the challenge and look forward to sharing our progress with you in the next couple of days. After that is was time to drink fresh coconuts that were gifted to us and now we are off for a swim and a well earned rest. So far so good and only getting better.
